| | | Bohol Tours & Travel | Bohol is the 10th largest Island in the Philippines, with an area of 4,117.3 sq. km. and it is located in the heart of the Visayas Region. It is 803 km south of Manila and 79 km southeast of Cebu. It is composed of one mainland that is surrounded by 72 islets, with 47 towns and one city which is called TAGBILARAN CITY and popularly known as "the city of FRIENDSHIP". Tagbilran is the only city of the Province which is also the mainstream of commerce and industry in the Province. According to historians, Tagbilaran City came from the word "TAGO" a bisayan word which means to hide and "BILAAN", Moro Raiders from Mindanao that kidnapped the residents of the Island.
